Kidney Wellness Screenings
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) provides a variety of free kidney health screenings, identifying people at risk for CKD (high blood pressure, diabetes type 2) to those with abnormal kidney function test results (the serum creatinine -- an indication of the kidneys filtering abilities, and the estimate GFR, another kidney function indicator). Often these screenings take place at health fairs or health expos and we may do a simple blood pressure screening, a blood pressure and blood sugar screening, or a blood pressure and blood draw for the two labs tests mentioned above.

To find out if there is a kidney wellness screening in your area, or to have NKF participate at your next health event, please contact Patty at patty.mccormac@kidney.org or 415-543-3303, ext. 104.
